Regional Minister takes over as acting KMA Chief Executive

    The Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr. John Alexander Ackon has taken over as the acting Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly Chief Executive.

    The move followed the resignation of Mr. Kojo Bonsu July 12 this year as KMA Chief Executivein a row with the Kumasi Traditional Council.

    Interacting with heads of departments and units during a visit to the KMA, Mr. Ackon called on the heads of department and management to be innovative in the discharge oftheir duties.

    He said staff and management should find innovative ways of addressing problems and notto talk always about challenges facing them.

    Mr. Ackon said he was working around the clock to ensure that the KMA reconvene to elect a presiding member to pave way for smooth administration and implementation of development projects.

    The RegionalMinister's visit to the KMA was the first since assuming responsibility as the acting Chief Executive of the Assembly. The visit was to enable him to learn at first hand challenges facing the various departments and units and to be briefed by the various heads on the functions and operations of the departments.
