A total of Nine Hundred and Seventy-Eight pupil are sitting for the 2023 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Kumasi Metropolis.

This was revealed when a joint team from the KMA and the Metro Education Directorate toured some Examination centers in the metropolis on Wednesday 9th August, 2023.

According to Mr. David Oppong, The Metro Director of Education, the total number of candidates are from 94 public schools and128 private schools totaling 222.

Madam Felicia Agyemang, a deputy director at the KMA also urged the BECE candidates to focus and study hard throughout the examination period. She added that the visit was to encourage and motivate them and also to observe what challenges are emanating and find amicable solutions to them.

The examination centres visited were Kumasi Senior High Technical School, Armed Forces SHTS, Asanteman SHS and St. Louis Demonstration JHS.
