HON. OSEI ASSIBEY READY TO TAKE THE VACCINE JAB AT THE RCC

The first phase of the nation wide Covid-19 vaccination which is being rolled out by the government begun in the Kumasi Metropolis on Tuesday 2nd March, 2021.

The first personalities who received the AstraZeneca vaccine jab included the Asantehene, Otumfour OseiTutu II; the Mayor of Kumasi, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi; the CEO of KATH, Dr. Oheneba Danso; Members of the Regional and Metro Security Councils, Heads of various MDAs, and some prominent personalities in the Kumasi Metropolis.

At the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) where the Kumasi Mayor represented the Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah, some of the recipients includingDr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, Dr. Emmanuel Koranteng, Regional Director of Health Services, government functionaries and other party activists were also vaccinated.

He urged the public to take the vaccine without hesitation to reciprocate the gesture of the President by acquiring the vaccines at no cost to Ghanaians.

“We should not have any fears in taking the vaccine. I have taken it, and I urge the general public to go for it as scheduled by the Ministry of Health”, he added.

A total of 146,000 people are expected to be vaccinated in the Ashanti Region in the first phase of the 2-weekexercise.
