KMA AND ARCC ORGANIZE MASSIVE CLEAN-UP EXERCISE ON 68TH INDEPENDENCE DAY

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, led heads of security agencies, departments, and units to embark on an impressive clean-up exercise at Alabar, a suburb of Kumasi, on Thursday, March 6, 2025.

The success of the exercise was undoubtedly dependent on the impressive attendance by security personnel, students, traders, residents, and Kumawood actors who participated from start to end. Also taking part in the exercise were some staff of KMA, ARCC, and fun clubs.

Though Alabar was the prime focus for the clean-up exercise, areas such as Doctor Mensah, Manhyia, and some parts of Ashtown had their streets cleaned and gutters desilted.

Prior to the start of the event, aimed at keeping the environment clean and safe for living, the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) and the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (ARCC) had organized requisition kits, refuse compactor trucks, backhoes, and other machinery to do the necessary work.
An enthusiastic crowd of people participated in the clean-up exercise, which started at 6am and ended at12noon.

Enthused by the attendance, the Ashanti Regional Minister thanked participants for responding to his call and seeing the need to participate in the cleaning exercise. He advised residents of the communities to keep the environment clean and safe from illness.

Speaking to the media after the clean-up exercise, Mr. Oppong Darko advised the public to keep the environment clean, warning that anyone found to have littered around would be dealt with bylaw.
