The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has recently commissioned a 6-Unit Classroom Block at Fankyenebra M/A Primary and a KG Block at Apraman M/A, all within the Nhyiaeso Sub-Metropolitan District Council.

In his welcome address at the commissioning of the 6-Unit Classroom Block at Fankyenebra, the Assembly member for the area, Hon. James Nana Prempeh said he was delighted to see the completion of the project since it had been abandoned for more than 8years.

Mr. David Oppong, the Metro Director of Education in his remark appealed to the teachers and students to inculcate a culture of maintenance to make the classroom block last long for posterity.

He also appealed to the traditional authorities to collaborate with the School Management Committee (SMC) in maintaining the block. “The school belongs to the community so you have to take good care of it” he added.

Mr. David Oppong advised the students to take advantage of the block and study hard and pass their examinations with distinction.

The Mayor of Kumasi, Hon. Sam Pyne in his address said the KMA had taken it upon itself to complete all abandoned and uncompleted educational facilities within the Kumasi Metropolis, thus the completion of the 10-year-old abandoned block.

According to him, good learning environment was important in realizing quality education in the country. He hinted of the construction of another project in the community.

Hon. Sam Pyne consequently called on teachers, students, school management committee, the traditional authorities and the community to take very good care of the project by way of maintenance.




The chairperson for the event, Baworohemaa Nana Juaben Afrakoma said she was grateful to the KMA for completing and commissioning the project for the community. 

She appealed to the KMA to bring more of such projects to the area including libraries and ICT Centers.

Nana Juaben Afrakoma also called on all for the maintenance of the project.

At Apraman, during the commissioning of the KG Block, Hon. Sam Pyne entreated the teaches to inculcate in the children the culture of reading and writing since the KG was the basis of proper education.
