As part of its Corporate Social Responsibilities, the National Investment Bank, NIB, has presented a cheque for Gh? 66,950 to the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly to support its 'Keep the City Clean and Green' initiative. The presentation was done after a proposal made by the Metro Chief Executive Hon. Osei Asibbey Antwi for the Bank to support and partner the "Keep the City Clean and Green" initiative. The Initiative, which is a brain child of the MCE is to help restore Kumasi to its past status as the Garden City of West Africa.
Presenting the cheque to the Assembly, the Head of Corporate Affairs of NIB, Mr. Charles Wordey, said the Bank's objective was to support communities in which they operated hence the motivation to support the KMA's initiative to keep clean, green and attractive. " As a bank we are concerned with assisting the KMA recapture the lost glory as the garden City of West Africa, he said. Mr. Charles Wordey expressed the hope that the Assembly would put the money to good use. The MCE, Hon Osei Asibbey Antwi who received the cheque was grateful to the Bank for its swift response in supporting the 'Clean and Green Initiative. He also called on other corporate bodies to emulate the gesture of NIB and support the Assembly's initiative.
In attendance at the presentation ceremony were the Metro Coordinating Director, Mr. Michael Ataogye, Presiding Member, Hon. Abraham Boadi and some senior officials of the Bank and the Assembly.
