Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has thrown his weight behind the Mayor of Kumasi, Hon. Osei Asibbey Antwi on the relocation exercise the Assembly is embarking on.

Baffour Owusu Amankwaatiaa explained that the Asantehene who is the overlord of the Asanteman Kingdom supports any legal action that will beautify Kumasi and Asanteman in general.

His support comes in the wake of agitations from a group of people who call themselves Concerned NPP members at Kejetia who are calling for the dismissal of the Mayor for relocating traders within the Central Business District.

“Why will any responsible person ask for the dismissal of this hardworking Mayor who want Kumasi to be clean?"

Baffour Owusu Amankwaatia condemned the said group and told them Otumfuo supports the relocation exercise.

He indicated that before the KMA embarked on the relocation exercise, all the satellites markets were put in good shape to accommodate the affected traders and for that matter, the traders cannot fault the KMA in its efforts of decongesting the Central Business District.

The Bantamahene applauded Hon Osei Assibey for his development drive and asked him to remain focus and do what is right for  the development of Kumasi.
