Mayor of the City of Wichita

The Mayor of the City of Wichita Kansas in the United States, Mr. Carl Brewer has called on the Kumasi Mayor, Mr. Kojo Bonsu at his office in Kumasi.

He was accompanied by a delegation of businessmen. The visit is aimed at boosting economic and business links and education with the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA).

Speaking during a meeting with Mayor Bonsu, Mr, Brewer, said his visit was also to strengthen and promote bilateral relations in all fields between the Government of Ghana and the United States for the mutual benefit of their people.

He said, representatives from both Wichita State and Friends University who were part of the delegation would explore ways of developing collaboration for recruitment and study abroad in the areas of education .Cultural and humanitarian issues were also discussed by the two cities.

The Kumasi Mayor, Mr. Kojo Bonsu thanked Mr. Brewer for the visit calling it as sister- sister, brother-brother relationship.

He was hopeful that Mayor Brewer's visit would yield positive results. Mayor Bonsu called for exchange programmes and seminars between the two cities.

The two men later held bilateral talks behind closed doors.

The delegation was later taken on a tour of the city where they visited interesting places including the Kumasi Central Market, the Komfo Anokye Sword and the Rattry Park currently under construction by the KMA.
