Rattray Park Ready for Commissioning
President John Dramani Mahama andHis Royal Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II are billed to jointly commissionthe first-ever and perhaps the biggest modern recreational facility in Kumasion Friday.
The commissioning forms part ofthe President�¢??s itinerary in the region where he is expected to inspect somemajor infrastructural projects.
The recreational facility knownas �¢??the Rattray Park, Kumasi City�¢?? forms part of effort to green Kumasi andrestore it to its past glory as the Garden City of West Africa.
The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly(KMA) has successfully undertaken the regeneration and redevelopment of apublic park into an ultra�¢??modern recreational facility.
The object is to give thecitizens of Kumasi and beyond a one-stop recreation facility and also promote ahealthy lifestyle.
It has an acoustic dancing fountain,the first of its kind in the Sub-Sahara Region.
The 42,000 square-meterrecreational facility can boast of a six square-meter multimedia controlledfountain, children�¢??s playground, a golf cart, wi-fi internet connectivity, anopen robust gym and a cafeteria among others.
As a result of the commissioningthe Raintree Street (road in front of Golden Tulip Hotel) will be closed totraffic at 10:00 am on Friday.
