
Hungarian businessmen look for investment opportunities in Kumasi
A three-member Hungarian businessmen led by the Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Andras Szabo has paid a days working visit to Kumasi to explore business opportunities to possible investment in various sectors for development in Kumasi. The day's working visit is a follow up to an earlier meeting between the Metropolitan Chief Executive, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi and the Hungarian Ambassador during the commissioning of the Hungarian Embassy in Accra in December 2017. The Hungarian team paid a courtesy call on the MCE at his office to drum home their desire to invest in Kumasi.
The Ambassador, H.E. Andras Szabo disclosed that a Hungarian-Ghana Business Council has been formed all geared at looking at the investment opportunities in Kumasi in particular and Ghana as a whole. He was hopeful their working visit to Kumasi will yield positive results for the two countries.
The MCE, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi also catalogued some business opportunities in the Metropolis that can be tapped by the Hungarian investors. According to him, Kumasi has some challenges which have evolved into business opportunities. “Kumasi has a number of bad roads and these have become areas where one can invest in he stated. Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi also mentioned areas that have investment potentials as car high rising car parks to ease congestion in the Central Business District, the Kumasi Zoological Gardens and investment in hospitality facilities such as hotels. Hon. Osei Assibey also told the Hungarian delegation the preparedness of Kumasi in opening up for investment. To this end he said a Working Committee has being formed by the Assembly to meet and deliberate with the Hungarian Investors for closer collaboration. The Hungarian delegation were later taken to some potential investment sites in the Metropolis.
