
KMA CLINIC TO BE UPGRADED INTO POLYCLINIC
he Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) Clinic is to be upgraded into a Polyclinic to help ease pressure at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi.
The expansion of the Health facility which is adjacent to the KMA Building follows the supports and goodwill shown by members of Parliament (MPs) within the Kumasi Metropolis to use part of their National Health Insurance Fund and Fund Raising to upgrade the KMA Clinic.
.Briefing the media in Kumasi on the issue, the MP for Subin Constituency, Hon. Eugene Boakye Antwi, said face-lifting alone with the Clinic was inadequate that it was about time a second look was taken at the facility to relocate it to a Central location point close to KATH and upgrade it into a Polyclinic status augment the work of the Teaching Hospital in the Metropolis.
The Metro Director of Health, Dr. Alberta Britwum Nyarko, expressed appreciation for the initiative and support by MPs. She was optimistic that if the initiative materialize, the facility would be patronized by a lot of residents especially those in the Central Business District where a lot of activities were centered.
