PRESIDENT NANA ADDO GIVES TO MUSLIMS

Assorted food items and drinks were on the first Friday of Ramadan presented to the Muslims Community in the Ashanti Region at the Central Mosque in Kumasi. The Mayor of Kumasi, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi who made the donation on behalf of the Regional Minister and the President appealed to Religious Leaders in the country to coexist peacefully with the other faiths and not to create rivalry and disunity among themselves particularly the youth.


The donation which included 100 bags of rice, 50 bags of sugar,  50 boxes of cooking oil, 50 boxes of Lipton,  7 cartons of milk and 7 cartons of Milo was meant to help meet the nutritional needs of the Muslim Community during the thirty (30) day fasting and prayer. 

The Ashanti Regional Chief Imam, Sheikh Abdul Mumin Harun pledged the support of the Muslim Community to the development effort of the Regional Coordinating Council and the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA).

He also expressed gratitude to the government for the donation and called on the residents in the region, especially Kumasi to support the efforts by city authorities to make Kumasi clean.



The Kumasi Mayor was accompanied to the Central mosque by the Regional Coordinating Director, Madam Emelia Botchway, the Municipal Chief Executive of Asokore Mampong, Alhaji Alidu Seidu and the District Chief Executive for Sekyere Affram Plains, Hon. Owusu Joseph.
