KEJETIA VALIDATION EXERCISE TAKES OFF SMOOTHLY

Nana Agyenim Boateng, Amoamanhene, Chairman of the Kejetia Oversight Validation Committee has expressed satisfaction with the ongoing validation exercise in Kumasi. According to him, the Committee initially thought it was going to go through some setbacks but fortunately this has not been the case. Everything is going on smoothly. ‘We anticipated  that 4,000 people will be validated in one month but the speed at which we are moving, I think we can surpass that figure, Nana Agyenim Boateng told the media over the weekend.

The validation exercise which started last Wednesday is ongoing and is expected that shop owners and occupants of the former Kejetia Terminal who were registered before the commencement of the Kejetia/Central Market Redevelopment Project are validated to establish the true owners of the shops. He disclosed that 108 shop owners who were not available when the KMA registered the traders in 2015 will be allowed to register after they have gone through the due process. Nana Agyenim Boateng however said that two persons who posed as shop owners and could not provide any authentic documentation were rejected.
