MAYOR HOSTS 11-MEMBER ISRAELI DELEGATION

TheMayor Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi has received an 11-member Israeli delegation in hisoffice today 7^th August, 2019.

Hon. Osei Assibey welcomed thedelegation to Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (K.M.A) and by extension, Ashanti Region.

The delegation came to Ghana to partake in the “Year of Return” declared by the President, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

The “Year of Return, Ghana 2019” is a major landmark spiritual and birth-right journey inviting the global Africa finding, home and abroad, to mark 400 years of arrival of first and slave Africans. 

The spokesperson for the delegation Sar Ahmadis lauded the President for proclaiming this year as a year of return. This exercise brings meaning to identity as the personnel’s involve are connected to themselves and particularly to Ghana. 

The opening of Ghana to dispersant make them to love and always want to be here. He added that their coming to participate in this exercise is to add to the already skills available by bringing expertise in the areas of Health, Organic Agriculture, Music. He recounted memories and knowledge shared with the late Major Courage Quashigah when he visited Israel and implemented some of the things he learnt from Israel in Ghana.

Mr.  Sar Ahnadiex said Israel has paid their contributions to seven communities in Ghana. He advise Ghana to be careful and alert on their Security as they received influx of foreigners into their space in order to maintain and protect their fiber of Society. He questioned against Genetically Modified Food (GMO).

The Metro Coordinating Director(MCD), Mr. Samuel Donkor called on the delegation to bring a formal proposal to the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (K.M.A) stating clearly, what is expected of both parties in order to form a strong alliance.

The Mayor, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi on his part indicated that the expertise will be welcome in Ghana particularly in Kumasi as the President is moving Ghana Beyond Aid. It is of essence that value are added to raw materials, new system farming and producing is adopted to boost the economy. This will bring a turnabout in employment.

The Mayor charged them to finish what the Late Minister Major Courage Quashigah stated. On farming in regards to Agriculture, the best place for farming is Ashanti Region and there will be no difficulties for farming since the Asantehene owns the land.

Hon. Osei Assibey added that the local farmers will benefit from new farming technology and knowledge and this will increase yield and the income of the farmers and all those along the value change of Agriculture.
