REBECCA FOUNDATION DONATES TO THE VULNERABLE IN KUMASI
The REBECCA FOUNDATION has donated 2900 boxes containing various foodstuffs to the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) on Thursday 9th April, 2020 to be distributed to the aged and the vulnerable in the Kumasi metropolis.
The foundation was partnered by ORCA DECO under the theme, LENDING A HELPING HAND/BOXES FROM REBECCA.
Each of the boxes contained 440 grams of Milo, 10 sachets of Nido, 1kg rice, 1kg sugar, a pack of Lipton, biscuit, sardines and indomie.
According to the foundation, the donation was a response to the needs of the vulnerable in the metropolis during the partial lockdown.
He added that the distribution would be done by the Department of Social Welfare,and he, would supervise.
People with Disabilities (PWDs), People living with HIV/AIDS and others received their items at the Department of Social Welfare.
Some of the beneficiaries included the Opoku Ware Vulnerable Centre, Street Children Project at the St. Peter’s Basilica, widows and widowers at Yenyawoso Presby and the Missions of Charity at Mmrom.
The rest included head potters and tricycle riders at GPRTU at Mmrom, Tailors and Hairdressers at Bantama, the Aged at Adoato Church of Pentecost and some vulnerable who were seen on the streets.
