KUMASI MAYOR TOURS BASIC SCHOOLS IN THE METROPOLIS

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) and the Metro Education Directorate has toured some basic schools within the metropolis as the schools reopened.

The MCE Hon Osei Assibey Antwi explained that it was incumbent on his outfit to ensure that school authorities and students were using the personal protective equipment’s distributed to them for their intended purpose of adhering to the COVID-19 protocols.

He commended the president, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo and the Minister of Education for the provision of the PPE's and advised the students to ensure that they always adhere to the basic protocols in order not to contract or spread the virus.

He entreated them to be ambassadors of change wherever they find themselves to educate their siblings and peers on the COVID-19 protocols.

The headmaster of Adiebeba M/A JHS, Mr. Emmanuel Amoako, indicated that the final year students had been put into 4 classes with each class containing 24 students.

At OWASS Basic School, the head teacher, Mrs. Anastasia Bediako Amoah indicated that the JHS 3 students were one hundred and fifty (150) in number and had been put into five (5) classrooms.

Both head teachers acknowledged receipt of government’s PPE’s which includes Veronica Buckets, Thermometer guns, Tissue papers, Hand sanitizers, soap, stands,washing basins and dustbins.

They also indicated that each student had received his or her facemask and hand sanitizers as directed by government.
