KMA BOSS URGES BECE CANDIDATES TO AVOID EXAMINATION MALPRACTICES.
The Mayor of Kumasi, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi has urged students sitting for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) to be focused and avoid examination malpractices, stating that examination was only an opportunity for them to demonstrate what they have learnt over the past years.
He entreated the candidates to eschew pressure and pass well to be able to access the Free Senior High School programme being rolled out by the government.
Hon. Osei Assibey said this when he led a team from KMA and the Metro Education Directorate to monitor some selected BECE Centers in the Kumasi Metropolis on Monday 14th September,2020.
Metro Director of Education, Mr. David Oppong entreated the candidates to encourage their peers who were not taking part in the examination to take part so as to get placement in the computerized placement system.
A total of 10,365 candidates are sitting for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Kumasi Metropolis comprising 4,990 boys and 5,375 girls.
The Kumasi Mayor and his team visited T.I Ahmadiyya Centre which had 16 schools with 858 candidates; KumasiAnglican Centre which had 18 schools with 829 candidates; and Armed Forces SHTS which had 12 schools with 758 candidates.
