HON SAM PYNE COMMISSIONS THREE INSTITUTIONAL SANITATION FACILITIES IN KUMASI

Mayor of Kumasi, Hon. Samuel Pyne has at short ceremonies handed over three institutional toilet facilities to school authorities at different locations under his jurisdiction on Wednesday July 24, 2024.

At Kumasi Girls Senior High school in Abrepo, he handed over an 11-seater toilet facility for use. At Saint Hubert’s Roman Catholic KG and Primary in Duase, an11-seater toilet facility for both male and female pupils were also handed over to the school authorities for use.

Also, at Awere M/A Basic School in Asafo, he handed over an 11-seater toilet facility for both male and female pupils.

In his short address to representatives of the Metro Education Directorate, school authorities, teachers, and students of beneficiary schools, Hon. Sam Pyne advised that, the facilities should be kept clean and maintained to ensure their longevity. 

He said good sanitation environment was critical to quality teaching and learning in the schools.

In continuance, he hinted that a team from the World Bank, Ministry of Water and Sanitation, and their consultant for the Project would later inspect and assess the usage of these sanitation facilities.

Madam Judith Bamford from the Metro Education Directorate, expressed gratitude to the government, Mayor and the Assembly for ensuring that sanitation conditions in schools were improved.

She added that provision of these modern institutional sanitation facilities would go a long way to improve teaching and learning conditions in the beneficiary schools.
