KMA MAYOR ENGAGES STAKEHOLDERS IN BASIC EDUCATION TO IMPROVE QUALITY DELIVERY

The Mayor of Kumasi, Honorable Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi, on Friday, July 25, 2025, held a maiden meeting with stakeholders in basic education to discuss ways to improve the sector in the metropolis.

 

The meeting drew heads of basic schools, Metro Education Office staff, regional managers of schools, executives of the Parent-Teacher Association(PTA), and School Management Committee(SMC) from all five constituent sub-metros of the metropolis.


The deliberative meeting offered him a chance to re-echo the government's agenda for resetting Ghana, in which ensuring education is among its priorities.

 

He mention edro bust infrastructural development in schools, creating a conducive atmosphere for teaching and learning, and teacher motivation, among other things.

 

He sought further and better ideas from the stakeholders to inform the Assembly's future decisions on education.

 

The Metro Director of Education, Mr. David Oppong, thanked the Mayor for providing a platform to share thoughts and experiences that would move education forward.

 He mentioned encroachment on school lands, poor sanitation, inadequate security personnel, and inadequate furniture in schools as major challenges confronting education in the metropolis.
