KUMASI MAYOR COMMENDS YCAF GROUPS FOR INNOVATIVE IDEAS

Mayor of Kumasi, Hon. Richard Ofori Agyeman Boadi has commended 10 groups of the phase 2 of the Youth Climate Action Fund which is being funded by the Bloomberg Philanthropies.

He said the youth groups have innovative ideas which needs to be harnessed to create employment and also help in addressing climate change issues.

The Mayor said this when 10 youth groups participating in the Youth Climate Action Fund phase 2 presented their projects in an exhibition at the KMA on Wednesday 27th August, 2025.

 

He noted that all their projects had huge potential to showcase Kumasi to the rest of the World and needed support to make it a reality.

He encouraged the youth of Africa to use their brains to transform their circumstances and live like their compatriots in the rest of the world.


Hon. Richard Ofori Agyeman Boadi assured the youth groups that his doors were always opened for their proposals and financial assistance to support their innovative projects.

The groups included Green Awareness International who are into climate Change awareness, Echo Youth Alliance who are researching on the effect of Climate Change on Vegetable production, 3-in-1 Tech Waste Solutions who are producing smart solar powered dustbins, and Martyrs of Uganda School producing Smoke Detectors.


The rest include Sunawash who are producing soaps from plantain peels, GAPS Knust who are converting coconut husk into eco-friendly charcoal to address deforestation, and Crusaders who are into composting, planting trees, waste segregation and biogas.
