KMA Boss Leads Special Metrowide Clean-Up Exercise Ahead of Asantehemaa's Funeral

The Mayor of Kumasi Hon. Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi today led a massive clean-up exercise in the Kumasi Metropolis.

The clean-up exercise is part of preparations for the funeral of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, which is scheduled for Monday, September 15, 2025.

According to the Kumasi Mayor, the exercise aims to ensure that the city of Kumasi is spotless to honor the late Queenmother and make it presentable for visitors who will be mourning with Asanteman.

 


The Mayor was seen desilting some choked gutters, demonstrating his commitment to the exercise.

Youth groups including Ashanti Youth Association, Kumasi Youth Association, and Kejetia Petty Traders Association also participated in the clean-up exercise. 

Some Senior High Schools such as Kumasi Anglican SHS, Asanteman SHS, Bantama SDA SHS, and Islamic Senior High School also contributed to the success of the exercise.

Some Assembly Members ensured that their electoral areas participated in the clean-up, which covered areas including Ash-Town, Dichemso, Amakom, Asafo, Adum, Nhyiaeso, Dr. Mensah, Mmrom, K.O Odumasi, Alabar, Manhyia Extension, Bantama, Cultural Centre, and Waec Drain (Akwatia Line).

 

The clean-up exercise is expected to contribute to maintaining the dignity and cleanliness of Kumasi during the funeral proceedings of the late Asantehemaa.
