KMA STAFF, ASSEMBLY MEMBERS AND FIRE SERVICE PERSONNEL SHOWCASE COOKING SKILLS
Sixteen departments, units, and agencies, including assembly members of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), competed not just for glory in a cooking competition but for euphoria and bragging rights.
They prepared finger-licking local delicacies and drinks, serving them up timely and satisfactorily on Thursday, March 26, 2026, as part of Ghana Month Celebrations.
Delicious local delicacies prepared included fufu, ogor, aprapransa, konkonte, nuhuu, banku, tuozafi, mootuo, gari and beans, and others.
Local drinks like sobolo, zonkom, and ataya were prepared and served satisfactorily.
The 'ataya' tea drink, prepared with a herb, sugar, and very hot water, was the most patronized drink on the day.
The gents, dominantly the youth, made sure they did justice to everything before the event ended.
The competitors demonstrated that cooking is, arguably, a skill, but not a profession.
At 8 am, before the staff of KMA reported to work as usual, competitors were almost set to do the do.
Unlike the last one, which was easily won by personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service, the current one was keenly contested.
All the competitors performed extremely well, but the assembly members who prepared fufu with light soup lived up to their hype, compelling participants and others to queue for the meal.
The results are yet to be announced, as the organizers failed to pick the best in the contest.
