SIX CONVICTED FOR ILLEGAL DUMPING OF WASTE AT KEJETIA
Six sanitation offenders have been convicted by the Prempeh Assembly District Court, presided over by Her Worship Deborah Gyaawa Donkoh, on May 11, 2026, for dumping refuse at Otumfuo Roundabout in Kejetia.
The suspects, Atta Gyamfi, 55; Manuna Ishawu, 24; Veronica Maako, 31; Mariama Iddrisu, 64; Kwadwo Amuzu, 37; and Ebenezer Atakorah, 25, pleaded guilty to a sanitation offence and were sentenced accordingly.
Each was sentenced to 100 penalty units, equivalent to GHS 1,200.00, or a 10-day imprisonment term in default.
Five of the offenders have since paid the fine to the court, with the exception of Ebenezer Atakorah, who will serve a 10-day prison sentence after failing to pay.
The offenders were arrested by Metro Guards personnel of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) at Otumfuo Roundabout around 5:30 a.m. on May 11 for illegal dumping.
