Ashanti Regional Minister outlines vision for region

The Ashanti Regional Minister Hon. Simon Osei-Mensah has outlined his vision for the region with focus on security, implementation of government's current policies and projects, review and continuation of on-going and abandoned projects.

Other priority areas in his vision include organization of annual investment forum and fight against indiscipline and insanitary conditions in the region.

These were contained in a statement issued and read at a news conference in Kumasi recently.

Hon. Osei-Mensah said "I am somebody who does not believe in wasting national resources especially when it comes to projects that will benefit majority of the people, and I am fully committed to continue all on-going and abandoned projects that were started by the previous governments".

He said the Akufo - Addo led government had since assuming office shown the way that "we can make this country work again and this is evident in the government's policy direction presented to parliament recently".

The Regional Minister said his administration would see to it that, programmes and policies of the government were carefully implemented in the region stressing that he would strictly monitor all activities of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies [MMDAs] as well as Ministries, Departments and Agencies[MDAs] to make sure they deliver to the benefit of the people.

He therefore called for support and cooperation to help build the region and make it "greater and stronger".
