Authorities at the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) have met to review the 2026 Annual Action Plan with a promising outlook for the city.

At a General Assembly meeting held at the Prempeh Assembly Hall on August 5, 2026, authorities said that although there was a decline in grants, their commitment to charting the development agenda of the city remains unchanged.

The General Assembly approved the construction of a modern Divisional Police Station at the Central Police Station in Adum, a 20-seater WC toilet facility at Kumasi Senior High Technical School in Patasi.

Other projects approved include the procurement of a vacuum sweeper truck, the construction of a urinal at the KMA Sanitation Court in Asem, and the construction of fence walls around two schools.

Prior to the approval of these projects, Metro Development Planning Officer, Mr. Charles Adjei, and Metro Budget Analyst, Mr. Jones Kani, took turns to present the reviewed Action Plan and Budget, in that order.

Assembly members extensively deliberated on their presentation, commended them for the good work done, and urged them to execute the plan to perfection.

Earlier, the Presiding Member (PM) of the Assembly, Hon. Patrick Kwame Frimpong, enjoined assembly members to take committee work seriously, stressing that members function mostly in committees.

He opined that lateness and absenteeism at committee meetings would only deprive the Assembly of quality human capacity and hinder development.

Present and contributing greatly to the discourse were Hon. Richard Ofori Agyeman, Metropolitan Chief Executive, and Mr. Francis Dwira Darko, Metro Coordinating Director.

Also present were heads of departments, units, and agencies.
