In fervent and united faith, hundreds of Christians and Muslims offered prayers for the nation, calling for divine direction, guidance, and mercy.

Led by scores of pastors and Muslim leaders across the Ashanti Region, a non-denominational, faith-based gathering held on July 1, 2026, at the Yaa Asantewaa Lounge in the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (ARCC), thanked God for peace in the nation.

The occasion marked the regional observance of the Second Edition of the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving.

They also thanked God for the lives of those in the Executive, Judiciary, and Legislative arms of government, and prayed for divine favour, guidance, wisdom, and the ability to transform the nation.

Apostle Johannes Vegba, Area Head of the Kumasi North Area, The Apostolic Church, Ghana, re-echoed the theme for this year’s event, “Resetting Our Values to Build the Ghana We Want.”

He underscored the need for all well-meaning Ghanaians to remain trustworthy, loyal, and committed to the nation’s progress.

He enjoined those in positions of trust to prioritise the interest of the nation and to become role models for current and future generations to emulate through good examples.

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Dr. Frank Amoakohene praised God with Christian songs to express his delight for His gifts.

In a brief address, he stated his concern over flooding incidents in the country, noting that with a holistic approach, the situation would improve in the coming days.

He called on everyone to support the government’s resetting agenda and promised to deliver on their mandate.

Attendance were Municipal and District Executives, political parties leaders, and leaders of faith-based organizations.

Also present were Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Coordinating Directors with their staff, security heads, and students from selected senior high schools in the region.
